Parks and Recreation

Harlingen has 15 city parks featuring soccer, softball, tennis, baseball, swimming, playgrounds, picnic areas, indoor hockey pavilion, hike/bike trail, nature parks and lakes.

The Harlingen Parks and Recreation Department strives to provide quality recreation and special interest programs for the growing Harlingen community. They have a diversified year-round recreation program consisting of a variety of activities. Special events, such as hosting flag football, basketball, softball, golf and volleyball tournaments, an Easter Egg Hunt, youth track meets, and fishing seminars are among the variety of special event throughout the year.
