Free Trade Bridge at Los Indios
More than one half of the current commercial trade between the U.S. and Mexico flows through the Lower Rio Grande Valley of Texas. The Free Trade Bridge at Los Indios is located 10 miles south of Harlingen and is the fastest truck crossing point on the Texas-Mexico border. It is one of the most modern and largest ports of entry in South Texas.

Valley International Airport
The Valley International Airport is the leading airport of the Rio Grande Valley with its modern facility and all the amenities of a big city airport without the hassles. Passenger service is provided by Southwest Airlines, Continental Express, and Sun Country Airlines. VIA was designated as a NAFTA CargoPort™ handling the majority of air cargo for the region. Airfreight companies include Bax Global, DHL, Federal Express, Menlo, UPS, etc.

Port of Harlingen
The Port of Harlingen is located 4 miles east of Harlingen and is part of the Inter-Coastal Waterway System and has over 150 acres of on-and-off channel sites available for industrial development.

Union Pacific Railroad
UP’s local terminal and switching yard provide direct access to the city’s industrial parks and to the Port of Harlingen.

Federal and State Highways
One of the advantages over other Valley cities is Harlingen’s centralized location, with two of the major highway systems converging right in the heart of the city. US 77 connects to Interstate 37 at Corpus Christi and US 83 connects with Interstate 35 at Laredo. Upon completion of Interstate 69, which will run through Harlingen, we will be directly linked from Canada to the interior of Mexico.
